October 21, 14:30
Room III
The sysbench load generation utility, originally created for internal use in MySQL AB and intended for the analysis of MySQL performance and hardware/OS characteristics that are important for a database server, became a MySQL benchmarking standard over the next few years and is currently used worldwide in many organizations ranging from universities to huge corporations.
In this talk, I will present the evolution of sysbench functionality, challenges in organizing load testing with sysbench. I’m going to pay special attention to the architecture of the new version, which makes creating complex load testing scenarios easy with the built-in Lua interpreter, using the example of a typical Internet DBMS workload.
